Norway and the government are declining the unlicensed market by submitting suggestions for new gambling law

The American government presented a new gambling law, and promises stricter sanctions against unlicensed operators - and affiliated companies that promote them.

The new legislation unites the country's previous totalizer law, Lotterilov and gambling law, while at the same time the market monopoly divided between Norsk Tipping and Norsk Rikstoto is maintained by "strengthening the exclusive rights model".

This is partly achieved by providing fines to other operators trying to offer gambling in Norway.

The new playing law was first proposed in June 2020, and the government Arranged the European Commission on the proposal in August of that year.

Minister of Culture and Equality Abid Raja says the law is specifically going to turn down on operators who are not allowed to offer Gaming in Norway.

"I am pleased to finally be able to present the new Gambling Act, which is a milestone in the government's work to prevent game -related problems and ensure responsible gaming."

“We have had enough of foreign gaming companies that do not respect American law and who do not operate with proper accountability measures. The new law provides the Lottery Authority new tools to detect, react and sanction against offenses. ”

According to the new law - which has become criticized by parts of the American gaming industry to continue the monopoly system - Marketing of gambling without a American license is prohibited. This will not only apply to operators, but also associated companies that "continue" customers.

"Violation of the ban can lead to punishment," the government says.

Furthermore, marketing of gambling aimed at children will be punishable, and to promote responsible gaming habits it will be prohibited to Inserting money by credit card.

Any operator is also obliged to introduce accountability measures, and all marketing aimed at self -clad players will be punishable. Marketing must rather "not go beyond what is needed to attract players to the legal gaming offers".

Raja also adds: “Things happen in the gambling industry in Norway. The government has worked consciously for several years with gambling policy, and this produces results. ”
