The Swedish police have arrested five people in Stockholm in connection with an investigation into tennis matches.

The National Operations Department (NOA) carried out the arrests today (April 14) following an ongoing investigation from the anti -corruption group. Noa also searched more homes.

The alleged combat fixing is said to involve significant sums, even if the amount was not revealed.

The Swedish police authority condemned earlier combat fixing as a "significant threat" towards Sport.

- We can see that all sports risk being influenced by match fixing, and we are intensively working towards this through, among other things, preventive efforts and collaboration at several different levels to access the problem, says Stefan Erkensjö of NOA's anti -corruption group.

The arrests follow a recent attack by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), which handles integrity issues in the sport, against Spill And match fixing. The notifications leading to ITIA surveys are usually provided by the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA).

Earlier this week ITIA gave one lifetime ban to Argentine player Franco fat After admitting nine cases of match fixing.

Itia gave Slovak player Barbora Palcatova a three -year ban in early April after she was found guilty of match fixing. She was the tenth player itia banned this year.
